Well, it has been awhile since I have just rambled just because--so here it goes.
Friday I didn't post because I didn't work at the salon. Ian got called into work early and I didn't have a sitter, so I was off to be productive.
Well it was thought that one girl was going to cover my shift but it ended up being another. Well since Ian was covering in that area he decided to stop in and tell the girl who he thought was covering my shift "thanks" but it ended up being another girl that he didn't know as well, so he decided to have some fun with her.
So he goes in and says that he has a spray tan scheduled with the other girl. Well the girl who was working, her eyes got really big realizing that there was a possibility she was going to have to cover the spray tan for her thus having to spray her first nude/ semi-nude gentleman. He kept it going for a few minutes, until she almost started tearing up. He could tell she was freaking out. So then he told her what he was really there for, so then she realized who he was. Well thought she realized who he was by his last name, but then he told her he was my brother and not my husband. That poor girl is going to be all types of confused.
With my day off I got to visit my girl friend Erin and her sister Shannon since they were in town. That was such a pleasant visit and left me wishing we could do that more often Always nice to catch up. Then we (Haley and I) headed to Aldi's in Leavenworth since that is now closer to us then the one in Shawnee. It isn't my first shopping trip to Leavenworth. And while I was headed that way I was thinking about how much I enjoyed the change of pace out there. A lot less people. People are friendlier. Just simple. A much different crowd from Johnson County, the Bonner crowd, and most certainly the KCK Wal-Mart crowd. I avoid the KCK Wal-Mart like the plague, and after talking to neighbors and family that lives in the area--I think we all concluded that we all drive further to avoid that place. The good ol' bus line brings in a whole lot of undesirable people and the employees are either horrible and rude or amazingly friendly--it is so hit or miss depending on the time and day of week. But mostly, they are horrible.
Anyways, so I was gearing up for another pleasant trip to Leavenworth when I encountered my first ever rude Aldi employee. No matter which Aldi I have gone to, I have ALWAYS gotten above and beyond customer service. ( In fact, I already have a good connection with one of the LV Aldi employees. She has twin kiddos and is so friendly and always makes small talk.) They all got to know Haley by name--always making small talk. And this lady spoke to me like I was her misbehaving child or student simply because I needed change for a dollar to get my quarter. Whatever, I will continue to go and continue to be friendly because I refuse to allow other peoples' bad behavior to change my glowing personality.
Moving forward, yesterday, which was Saturday. We headed to my parent's lake house for a little get together. My grandparents, my brother and his wife, and my parents were all down there. I now have a new favorite drink. Hands down. It is real lemonade with sweet tea vodka. Amazing. In fact, this summer we are taking an all adult vacation to the Ozarks--and I am pretty sure I am going to have to introduce this very drink to my gal pals that will be attending the trip as well.
We ate some amazing food, spent some time out on the water riding the jet-ski, Haley splashed around in her baby toddler pool, and just catching up and visiting. It was a good day. We decided to head back--and I passed out exhausted the minute we got home.
Today we are just laying low and getting some stuff done around the house. Probably watch some Sister Wives at some point. Post a Craigslist ad so we can find a wife to our family ( I am totally kidding). And just gear up for another week. It is time for me to hit the gym and running hard. I've got a 5K in July that I would like to cut some time off my pace. Also, basketball starts in a week so I need to start shooting around. I have no idea what my work schedule is going to be like, so hopefully we can get that figured out soon with my little buddies mom. I do know that I can't and won't be working 5 days a week. But that is about it. You are all caught up on our weekend. I hope everyone enjoys their extended weekends.
