Family Living: Abbott Style

So, I'm going to do some more bragging.  Because it is my blog and I can do what I want.  I have the coolest sister-in-law and brother.  First, they volunteered to watch my cranky little girl this evening so I could play some basketball. But also, they brought me over my birthday present since my birthday is Thursday, and I'll be 23.  It's my birthday week!  And I have to say, they are goooood.  And I couldn't help but share... The smaller bottle of wine is just to show how massive the bottle of wine is they bought me,.  I don't feel as if the picture does the bottle justice.  How cool is that?  I'm guessing this is not a bottle I should polish off by myself in one night.   Guess what I do? This is simply brilliant....let me show you. Please forgive the video orientation.   Cool right?  This is simply the best thing that has happened to me since the birth of my child.  Seriously.  I really really suck...

Today I find myself reflecting on my own mother as I prepare to make the transition into a mother myself.  When I ponder about what type of mother I will be and what type of mother I would like to strive to be, I find myself blessed with such an amazing example.  A mother-daughter relationship is rarely a simple one, but it could possibly be one of the most important ones in our society.  A mother teachers her daughter how to be a friend, wife, and mother.  For me, my mother is a constant source of guidance.  As I reflect on our relationship, I wondered to myself, what is the MOST important thing I have learned from my mother.  I could go on for days discussing the valuable life lessons my mother has taught me, but today I realized the most important thing she has ever taught me….to love God.
